Incorporating the Breasts and Chest TESTIMONIALSToday I was singing as I was driving to work! OMG, so much more lung capacity, and I noticed my breasts expanding and moving. I feel now that they must have been kinda caved in, pasted to my chest. Thank you!
--S.0. Interactive and judgment-free; Very knowledgeable teacher. I really appreciate the passion you exude. --J.M. As a male LMT, I appreciated feeling safe and not judged by Lynna or the classmates. I was worried my body would have a physical response when I was trying to be healing/safe. Lynna did a good job of calmly guiding me when there was stuff I could do better. --A.B. I felt comfortable in a class where the topic is one not usually talked about and the work is not normally done. I appreciated the small size of the class. I was able to focus better and hear and to get the instructor’s personal attention. --S.O. The undraped supine routine felt amazing! Very good flow. I can’t wait to use it on my clients. Lynna was calm, cool, professional, and knowledgeable. She gave ample 1:1 attention, and always offered 1:1 guidance if I hadn’t quite “gotten it” yet. I liked the idea of normalizing touch on breasts . . . [the class] felt very well put-together, and I had a wonderful experience. Thank you Lynna for carrying this work forward! It is so important. One of the best classes I’ve taken! Thank you! Looking forward to future collaboration. --K.L. Engaging, well-paced, and the routines we covered will be so useful in my practice. Practical and easy on therapist’s body with great results. I feel confident that I can discuss breast and chest massage with clients. --J.N. Hands-on with multiple people and opportunity for feedback. Instructor was great about observing, doing demos and providing feedback. --C.O. This course was amazing! I was unsure how I would respond to the touch with my personal history of trauma, but you were great at explaining/preparing, and I was comfortable throughout! Thank you so much! --F.R. I liked how comfortable and inviting the whole experience was. I never felt uncomfortable, and I was concerned beforehand about that. I also enjoyed how interactive the class was. Excellent instruction and hands-on demonstrations. Also one of the most well-organized and informative CEU manuals I have ever received. I feel like I will continue to use this resource for years to come. --T.S. I liked the soft-hand emphasis, and the lomi emphasis with the routine we learned. --K.H. Learned so many new things [about the breasts]that I will be able to apply in my work! Thank you!!! Class Description
In this class, students will learn massage of the ribcage, chest, and breasts, intended to support healthy, full breathing and overall well-being. This massage commonly benefits clients experiencing stress, musculoskeletal neck, chest and shoulder related weakness or injuries, and also clients with non-cancerous breast related conditions such as menstrual related tenderness, fibrocystic breast tissue and other non-cancerous conditions. This massage also commonly benefits clients preparing for and/or recovering from surgeries, including those for breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast removal/mastectomy and/or open-heart surgery. The chest and breast massage taught in this class is intended to be easily integrated into a holistic, full body session to relieve tension, stress and pain, and to increase our clients’ ease of movement in both the upper and lower body. This work consistently helps clients feel and connect with their whole body in a wonderful way that many have not previously experienced. I envision normalizing full chest and breast massage within both treatment and relaxation focused massages. I am working for the day when massage of the full chest and breast area will be commonly offered as an option within full-body wellness massage sessions. Emphasis is placed on making our touch safe, pleasant, neutral/non-sexual, and effective for all clients. In many of the techniques, pressure is directed to the muscles and ribs located deep to the mammary glands. Students will learn massage techniques which are done for all genders with the chest draped and other techniques which are done bare chested/breasted. This class is not specific only to the breast as relates to breast feeding, breast health, etc., but is instead a way to incorporate this area of the body, and treat the chest wall, in any session for a person of any gender. This course meets Washington State training requirements for specialized training in breast massage (WAC 246-830-555), and meets NCBTMB CE requirements as well (#1000798). More than half the class time is devoted to hands-on massage practice. The balance of the time is spent discussing the issues specific to breast massage listed below. Course training includes information on and discussion of the following:

Classes in Bellingham and WA State
Prices differ depending on whether the private class takes class in Bellingham or another location, and on how many people take the class. Privately-contracted classes begin at $365 for the first two students, then drop to $200 for each additional student up to 14 students total. You must provide me with a list of students for certification purposes and complete payment within 4 weeks of class date. I will refund $150 per student (minus $50 admin free) up one week before class date in the event of extreme illness, emergency, etc. |
Classes Outside of WA State
Generally, I am contracted by massage schools when I am teaching breast massage out-of-state. However, I am open to teaching on a contracted basis out-of-state, particularly if a student or clinic is willing to host me. Class costs are negotiable. Classes on the East Coast/in the Boston Area
If the West Coast is too far for your travels, my friend and colleague, Edward Louis Miano, owner of Healing Hands Bodywork, teaches a similar 16-hour course in the Boston, MA area. Edward also teaches many other wonderful classes that include and integrate breast massage, both in person and via webinar! |
Instructor Profile
Lynna Dunn Fuller, LMT, MA60023935, NCBTMB Member #2000620/Instructor #1000798
My name is Lynna Dunn Fuller, and I am a licensed massage therapist and owner of Jubilee Massage Therapy. You can view my full profile here.
Having been a student of Barbara Helynn Heard Robles since my massage school days, and having been trained and mentored by her to do and teach breast and chest work in WA state, I knew that I wanted to help train others to do this work when she announced her retirement from teaching, early in 2021. A long and much-respected massage therapist and instructor, Barbara was a key voice in the 2015-2016 discussions to define what became “WAC 246-830-555 Breast Massage,” in order to keep the breast/chest area within scope of practice for WA State LMTs. In November of 2021, I assisted Barbara in teaching her final breast and chest massage class in Seattle.
“Incorporating the Breasts and Chest: 16 CEs for LMTs” is based strongly on the work and routines developed by Barbara, which I learned under her and am using with her permission. Barbara’s work is strongly based on her lomi lomi background, and I will be teaching these routines as she would, with additions and suggestions of my own. As Barbara often stated, this work “should more accurately be referred to as “full chest massage”; while it includes the breast tissue, the primary target is the chest wall deep to the breast tissue.” Including full chest and breast massage within full body massage sessions supports healthy breathing, stress relief, shoulder and neck treatment, and general well being. While some clients will have specific breast tissue issues and experiences (pregnancy, cancer, reductions, augmentations, etc.) and can get great help and relief from massage in this area, all clients can receive great benefit from this work.
